Can I use what3words in my vehicle’s sat nav?
Yes, potentially! Many vehicles offer what3words navigation in their sat nav systems including Jaguar, Land Rover and Subaru models. Explore the full list of what3words-enabled vehicles here.
Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
If your car isn’t on the list above, don’t worry; you can still use what3words for navigation via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
Follow these steps on your phone:
Connect your phone (via cable or Bluetooth) to your vehicle.
Open the what3words app.
Say or type the what3words address of your destination.
Select the usual Navigate icon and which Android Auto or Apple CarPlay-enabled navigation app you'd like to use.
The navigation app will appear on your car’s navigation screen. Instead of 3 words, it'll show the coordinates. Please note: for safety reasons, you often won’t be able to see the map or navigation screen on your phone, or use your phone while driving.
